Old Town Park City Real Estate
From the heart of Park City’s Historic Main Street, to the base of the Park City Mountain Resort, stretching past City Park, is the charming Old Town neighborhood. True to its name, Old Town is home to Park City’s first residential development and remains deeply rooted in the town’s origins. Originally platted at the end of the 19th century, most of the area has retained an old-west mining town spirit. Recent years have given way to the growth of a vibrant, festive, and highly walkable resort town center.
The Historic District within Old Town is emblematic of Park City’s rich mining history. Thanks in large part to Park City’s strict preservation guidelines, many of the original facades from the late 19th century have remained intact. Lots are small (typically 25’ x 25’) and there are few vacant homesites available. Scarcity is definitely a driving factor in determining the pricing of Old Town property.
Many of Old Town’s homes are built into the steep hillside, several have been host to spectacular luxury renovations, and a few offer ski-in/ski-out access to Park City Mountain Resort’s Town Lift Runs. In addition to the unique homes found within the Historic District, there are several condo projects and renovated bungalows stretching down Park Avenue, past City Park, and up to the base of Park City Mountain Resort.
The newest addition to Old Town is the Silver Star development. This ski-in/ski-out multiuse property not only offers both condominiums & single family homes, direct lift access to Park City Mountain Resort, shopping, and dining, but is currently home to the Sundance Institute and Spiro Arts. Truly a unique and vibrant part of the Park City Community, Silver Star hosts a summer concert series & après ski activities.
All of Old Town is within walking distance of a bus stop and Park City’s free transit system. Old Town is also host to some of Park City’s most pristine trailheads, winding hikers & bikers along spectacular trails carved into the surrounding mountains. City Park, the Park City Library, and the Kimball Art Center are other nearby community offerings, and world-class dining & shopping opportunities can be found on and around Historic Main Street. Ski access is also next to immediate via Park City Mountain Resort’s Town Lift.
